Is a mp10 enough on a 30long?

o^__^o<-- MY PLUGS
For sps?

I have it on the left side and return on the right
My return is a quite one 2200 tuned down about 25%

yes, might be too much depending on if you keep lps

You really think so? Im in the planning/buying stage for my 45 cube I already have an mp10 and a mag7 for the return, but i was going to get an mp40 and dial it down just to keep things random and happy. You think thatll be too much?

Another! Mmm maybe after I get a better skimmer

What it I tune it down? Or do sps need to have it on full blast?

I'm running 2 MP10ES's on a 45 gallon Tech tank, which is like a cube. I have them set on full power on Reef Crest mode. The tank loves it. I have mostly sps on the upper 2/3rds and chalices on the bottom tier and sandbed..

I tried a MP40 and even when it was dialed down I was having problems with it gather sand to one side of the tank. Plus the corals seem to like the variation with the two pumps.

2 smaller ones will be better than 1 large one. Your are using a 36 inch tank now correct? 2 MP10 dialed back to 60-70% will be great on that tank for sps. Place on opposing They will also be better for your 45 cube.

2 mp10s for a full blown reef right

What it I just place all sps on The left mount closest to Thr mp10 and LPS on the right mount?

One should be fine. If you need more flow, just put in a koralia or two. I can't even crank up my mp40 all the way in my 75 gallon, so one will be easy on your tank and your wallet. :)

I just added a 2nd MP10w on my 34g cube. always thought 2 would be too much.

but i am very happy

my tank is almost exactly one year old. Ive had one MP10w this whole time and my tank looked good. just recently added SPS and I needed more flow. I added some Koralia nanos, attached them to my RKE on wavemaker. the flow was decent but i had issues with noise and the violence of the hard stops and starts.

took them out and added an MP10w to opposite side of tank. spent a few hours messing with placement.

my tank looks very happy. my LPS are actually loving it, i didn't expect that but the more random flow from the two MP10's on reefcrest mode is just beautiful!! basically the whole tank is happy. my fish are even happier those clicking koralias are gone lol...

you just have to balance the flow with 2 in a small tank. i the master pump down a notch or two.

That's what's what I have now a mp10esW currently on short pulse mode

What pump can I use for the meanwhile? Knano 425?
