Well I'm thinking of purchasing a tunze pump and thought the tunze 6060 would be a good choice. But now im rethinking it a bit. Anyone useing this pump and if so what are your thoughts about putting one in a 75g tank?

Thanks,
Joe

I have 2 of them in my 90. I cant say that its too much flow, but the 6060 can not be controlled. Its on or off. They definitely put out a lot of flow. My problems have been adjusting them to not blow sand all over the place, and to also allow me to place corals where they look good. At times I shut one down. I am seriously considering running only one and a 2nd powerhead that oscillates. After having the 2 of them in a 90, if I was setting up a 75 I would probably not buy them for it. Maybe a set of Seio 820's?

just my $.02

I have heard that unless you get the controllable tunzes it's not worth the extra cash. Maybe Il go witth a SEIO 1100

I have experimented with flow in my 75 gal reef for the last year. If i had to do it all over again i would have gone with a pair Tunze's on a controller.

A seio 1100 will be alot of flow concentration in one direction. It will blow your sand thats a given. I settled with a pair of Seio 820's. You will need a wavemaker for sure. Any plans on which one? SWCD, Sea-swirl or wavysea. I chose to stay away from the Red Sea wavemaster Pro only because i think having multiple and i do mean multiple Mj's in a tank is Fugly IMO.

NVM i remember the previous post of using a SWCD;)

yea I do have the swcd.....just not sure how I will impliment it yet. But now Im back to the tunze 6000. At least for starters.

I just got 2 tunze nanostream 6025's in today, not alot of flow and not to much flow, 680gph each I think @ 61.00 a piece, come with the magnet holder and rotate 180degrees, very nice flow and flexabilty for the price :)

Marine depot has them

Should you decide to get rid of one, I may be interested.

But, but... what will I use when I upgrade to my 300+gal tank?
hehe

If I did switch out, I would probably hold on to it.

Thease might give Tunze nanostreams a run for there money http://www.tropicalfishoutlet.com/DryGoodSpecies.asp?DryGoodSubCategoryID=544&DryGoodCategory=Pumps

Possibly so, I wonder what the cost is compared with the Tunze

either way its nice to have more choices but I'll stick with Tunze at least until those new ones have been out for a few months :)

I think you'd be happy with some Tunze Joe, I'd get the controllable nano streams, I got the 6025's and they rock, they'd rock even more if I could tune em down just a touch as everything in my tank is getting a work out :)

Yes, I have (2) Tunze NanoStream 6025's in my 90gallon

I literally got them last night in the mail, I love em, LOTS OF FLOW too, I'm glad I didnt get the 6060 (ALMOST did)
