I have a tank thats been cycled 3 weeks now and has 3 fish in there.
Shouldnt I be seeing some hair algae and more diatoms by now?
Ammonia is 0
Nitrites 0
Nirtates 3
but on a serious note. i never got an ounce of gha or diatoms in my tank when i set it up, 2 years later still none to speak of. so your tank doesn't need to get it to be healthy.
While I don't see HA coming out, I do see some purple evolving on rock that I assume is coraline, and I also see a pink stain developing on the sand. Can anyone say what that is please?.
Honestly when setting up a new tank I think it's best to add fish after the coralline and other good stuff has a chance to grow on the rock. Feeding and fish waste will make the bad so grow fast So I like to give my rock time to grow all good stuff. What do they say ounce of prevention is worth a lb of cure. Just feed your fish very little first month or so give you tank time to cycle. Not just the nitrogen cycle
