dealing with algae in my tank. getting clear bubbles as well. not green bubble but clear if i run something across it or . .. it floats to the top and bust. my alge is weird on my glass i can go like 3 days or so before i need to clean it . but on my rocks its like taking over. cant keep sps because alge gets on it. runnning phosphate remover and euroreef skimmer. cutting back on the photoperiod. using frozen one day and pellets the other. mysis and formula. got around 150 snails in the 90 and around 20 hermits.

What are all of your parameters including PO4 and Alkalinity? What type of water are you using and what is it's TDS? When were your bulbs changed last and how often are you doing water changes? How many fish and what and how often are you feeding?

everything is in check. as far as that goes. using ro bulbs two months old. ive checked all that . tds meter 0 . using two part bionic. just going to battle it out

How long have you been running your tank -- clear bubbles sound like cyano (normally accompanied by a red slime)

I have a cyano problem on a month old 30g long w/ red slime. My 2 month old 25g cube QT has green slime, (Different type of cyano???) And I have just a little red slime in my 6 month old 65g. Some people tell me to just wait it out, do water changes and don't over feed. Are there and other solutions?

It has been my experience that a new tank will go through this type of problem as it settles out -- There are many reasons for Cyano and Algae -- all are natural reactions to what is being introduced to the tank from what is in the fish food, water being added to the tank, lighting, etc. I have not had a great measure of success with any of the quick fix products like red slime remover -- As long as the tank is not overstocked and you have setup the proper natural infrastructure (live rock, sand, etc.) things have a way of settling out -- My last startup tank -- the 110g took about 7 months to settle -- get through the algae bloom settle the critters in and then begin adding animals -- I had a recent outbreak of Cyano about 13 month into the development of the system which was due to a water issue with my RO unit.

Taking your time is the key I believe -- Over time, given that you have properly set-up the environment, things will naturally work out.

yeah mine is over a year old. at night it gets better and by evening again. its just annoying. whats weird is about 6 months ago i had to clean my glass daily. now i go 4-5 days sometimes. so . i think my paremeters are better. bought some of the redslime remover and it helped the redslime. i guess sps is out for a while.

and im moving this saturday . going to do about a 50 percent water change so. will see will see..

just curious if other people were having prob. as welll
