Is anyone breeding h.comes I found some at LFS.

I have a couple species of seahorse but have not seen h.comes in a store before. Is anyone breeding them or are they coming from the wild? They said they get it from Ocean something in California i can not remember.
Thanks

Most of the current H. comes on the market originate out of Vietnam. Small ones, 2 inches or so, are likely bred in captivity. Large ones would likely be wild caught.

I see them around here in the few stores that carry seahorses. They call them kuda's, but they're not. The striking tiger tail on them is a dead give away. Seem to carry small, large and extra large ones (the extra large ones the fish store called H. Kelloggi). One fish store owner was pretty honest and told me the larger ones are wild caught. I'll try to post a pick of mine this weekend and see if you agree they're H.Comes.

Here's a pic of a group of them swimming around. You can see the tiger stripe on the tail. Another pic of a male. Notice the pouch.

Would you agree these are H. Comes.?
