Is anyones TBS tube coral turning white?

Some of my tube coral on my rock is turing white--I guess I should take that rock out of my tank. My nitrites are around 0.25 and I am sure rock life die-off is the cause. Looks like I lost most of my blue legged crabs. I don't see them working anymore. Snails and peppermint shrimp are still alive. Hope I don't lose the entire tank. (no fish yet--waiting for good water conditions still after 6 weeks running this tank)

I'd the 2nd half in the tank this past tuesday night and had some tube coral die-off but very minimal and cause of die-off is probably due to handle issue and stacking initially. All the ones from the 1st half are doing well and had some on almost every piece of rock this time around but then I also picked an extra 15lbs of coral rocks. I also had some cup coral die-off on both times.

The biggest problem I'd so far are the white sponges that just seem to die relatively fast and I took them off when I got the 2nd half.

Are those blue legged crabs moving? I've so many of the empty shells in the front I couldn't tell which one is empty unless they move (I should have put those empty ones in the back) but they seem to be moving up on the rocks.

I have a large section of brown coral polyps on one of my rocks, just like most of you that got your TBS rock at the same time, and one of the polyps has turned pure white. Hasn't seemed to effect the others in the grouping though.

In other news I'm finally ready for the rest of my rock and my critters so I called this morning to get the second half of my package but I've had no return call yet. Richard must be in Key West or taking the weekend off for the holiday. :)

TBS is pretty quick to respond. I emailed last saturday night requesting for tuesday delivery and got reply back on sunday morning. Just drop them an email and let richard know which date you want the pkg delivered.

You're going to love the 2nd half. Enjoy!

btw--how long did it take you to cycle the 1st half?

Yeah, I sent an email as well. He'll get back to me when he can I'm sure.

I cycled in about 12 days. Took longer than expected because I had a sponge die off and it's "guts" went all over the tank causing a bad Ammonia spike. For that reason I've held off on getting the second have to make sure the tank is stable first.

I live near Tampa and was going to get a small order and thrusday / friday I had an email from him saying:

"Weather has not been cooperating and my rock on hand is low, I will call you next week when I have more rock"

we had some wind and a rain storm here this week so figure we will hear back after they have had time to dive / and / unload.

:)

Yeah, he emailed me back letting me know he was out of rock. I just now checked my email and there was one from him saying he was going diving tomorrow. :)
