Is dipping Xenia in Lugols OK?

Is it ok to dip Xenia in Lugols solution for a 15 minute dip? I've never dipped Xenia and not sure if doing so will harm it. I'm giving a frag to a friend of mine and just noticed a spaghetti worm forming on it. Don't want her tank to get overrun with spaghetti worms, those things are prolific to say the least.
