Is Frozen bloodworm ok for marine fish?

I just red a marine book mentioning various types of frozen food for marine fish, and bloodworm was one of them. I sure have lot of bloodworm left over from my previous fresh water hobby, but not sure if it is safe.

Have any of you use frozen bloodworm for SW fish?

The bloodworm brand I have is Hikari. It stated that it went through a high tech process to eliminate all kind of parasites, etc.

I have - they eat them - not sure how nutritious they are though. I fed them to my tangs, clowns, damsel, and goby.

I have been told they do not provide the proper nutrition for marine fish.

As a general rule, if it doesn't live in the ocean it's not a food source for marine animals (although I think mysis shrimp are an exception to this rule).

Bloodworms are fine for saltwater fish and I actually heard that they are more nutritious than frozen brine.

I've been feeding my saltwater fish mainly on bloodworms. They've grown in size as I can tell. I'm not going to argue what's right to feed to your fish. It's your fish, feed them whatever you like.

It is good to know that at least it is safe to feed bloodworm to marine fish. I have 20 pounds of Hikari frozen bloodworm that I didn't know what to do with. Now I feel safe to use them in additional to other food. Thanks much for your responses.

I totally agree with Double Down if it does not come from the Ocean then why feed it. Why would you feed bloodworms if there are so many other and better alternatives in frozen foods. Its like people feeding romaine lettuce and spinach to tangs. Bloodworms are larvae from non-bitting midges which is an insect from the family of Chironomidae. So in reality you are feeding insects to your marine fish not really natural in my book. Thats my two cents

Do you follow this in your life...think of all the things that we eat that are produced...what if a fly drops dead over the ocean and the fish eat it....I'm sure it happens....as long as they like it, and it poses no threat...why not....while in Mexico at Carlos n Charlies I fed these giant angels part of my steak and they loved it....and outside of the cowfish, not many cows live in the ocean :)
