Is it me, or did AquaMedic quality go down post fire?

Before AquaMedic went down in flames, I had bought a 250watt HQI oceanlight. The build quality was fantastic! The light was really bright, everything worked, seams were great, etc. I was a happy camper.

Then I bought another one just recently, and wow, it's 20% in quality IMO than my old one. The paint isn't even on the outside, in fact towards the corner it sort of splatters. The side plate that you have to remove to put a lamp in doesn't even sit flush with the edges and curves up a bit at the corners.

Then I tried to put the bulb in place, and holy the endlinks are really bad now. Pushing it in wiggling a bit totally smashed in the little metal plates that grabs on. After 5 weeks, the bulb fell out of the ends and sat on the glass, so I had to open it again and try to push it in. I noticed that one of the metal tabs was flat, and wouldn't grip at all. I used pliers to reform it, and finally got it in. Then a piece of the bulb's ceramic broke off! :mad2:

what's going on here? why has this once awesome product gone down the hole? Maybe the revival of their workshop gave way to cheaper equipment? Or did I just get a lemon?
