Is it ok to drink RO/DI

Yeah, that's what its for!
You don't have to drink the DI part, run a tee and save the final DI stage for your reef.

Once you get used to the plain feel of RO water, you'll never drink that chlorinated stuff again.
My RO water goes into making ice cubes, coffee, everyday drinking, water for work, cooking, mix it half reg and half RO for my plants, etc etc etc.

I can't believe how long I have lived without it!

Some people say that drinking too much RO/DI water could mess up your body's electrolyte balance.

Others say that you would be in danger of dying from water overdose before you could drink enough RO/DI to see the effects that the first group worries about.

Sure. I don't drink the DI, as others have said, I have a tee off of it to just get RO. But I don't necessarily recommend letting kids drink it. Not so much that it's unsafe, but that it doesn't contain the fluoride that is in tap water.

If you're determined to have your kids drink filtered water, consider buying bottle water with added fluoride.

After a little more research, it seems that the two groups I mentioned above are talking apples and oranges. The first group is worried about exclusive consumption of RO/DI water over a period of months. The second group was referring to a single gigantic dose of water.

The Question is about drinking DI Sorry.
I was just curious, I do have a RO Out and a Di Out on my unit.
I bought a Water Machine and I am going to use the RO Line.
Thanks For the help!!!!

There are no conclusive studies showing drinking DI water even exclusively does any harm to the human body. Its impossible to get a person to live on DI water alone with no food or other supplements long enough to get any information. Even one potato chip invalidates the study!
DI does have a very bland, blah taste and is not refreshing to most. I myself have drank RO only since 1992 when I installed my first RO/DI system in my home.
If you want a really cool system look at the remineralization systems Spectrapure sells. They add back only the minerals needed to make water and especially coffee taste great. If you go to some of the major coffee shops chances are very good you have drank some of their RO/DI remineralized water as lots of major vendors use them.

heres the deal ro strips alot of important minerals from the water. the good thing is we live in merica where we eat relatively well and those minerals are replenished otherways.... my advice: drink the water youll be fine

On a different note than health, I've lived in many places in my life (including Florida) and generally drink out of the tap with no taste complaints. However, when I visit the valley (and I'm sure it varies by location, but) I find the water to taste disgusting and undrinkable out of the tap. I'd take boring and bland over those chemicals in the tapwater anyday down there.
That's my message of positivity for the day.

Isn't flouride a by-product from the aluminum industry, that was once used as rat poison?

Yep, and bottled water is not tested or regulated by health organizations. In recent testing more than 30% of the name brand bottled water tested did not meet federal EPA drinking water standards!

i am staring at a bottle of arrowhead water that I just finished. Can you provide more info on that report?
