Is it possible to culture clams?

I saw an add for some captive cultured raised clams and was wondering if there is any good reading on the subject and if it is possible/ feasible to raise grow them or is it only in the ocean beds that this can be achieved. Any info or thought on the subject?
My brain is small and I know it would be out of my ability but would like to read a little on it anyway.

I know that it is possible. there are large clam culturing facilities...mostly in the Marshall Islands for whatever reason. I mbelieve most of the clams in the trade are culutured. Clams do freely spawn i8n captivity once they reach sexual maturity. ORA also has clam farms I guess in Florida.
