Is it possible to have two clowns of different types?

Such as an occelarus and a black and white?

I already have an occelarus clown in a 12g nano. I had 2 but lost one due to a temperature swing from not putting the AC on during a period of hot weather here in CT. I couldnt believe how fast that nano tank could swing in temp. Anyways, I am more vigilant about watching the temp and am looking to replace the fish as the tank appears to be a little empty.

I would like something a bit different looking like a black and white clown, but will they fight?

yes you could add a b/w.

Just make sure the b/w white is noticeably smaller than the existing clown. Then there shouldn't be much competition for who will be dominant.

Assuming you are talking about a B&W ocellaris, there shouldn't be any more issues then would normally occur with pairing up -- since they are the same species.

But, I wouldn't but any other fish in that tank.

I also have a black and white occilaris with an orange and white one, and they have layed eggs about every 3 weeks for the last 3 years!

When you breed B&W Ocellaris with Orange Ocellaris what do you get? Is it like a Orange Ocellaris but half black or do you get a Picasso? I think some day I'm going to try breeding a orange ocellaris with a black one!
