Is it possible to pair GSM'S?

I have a GSM in my tank, been there for the last 1 1/2 years. I decided I wanted to try and pair him/her with another GSM but I heard it is very difficult to do. I was told it might be done by buying a GSM maroon bigger than he/she is.

My question is how difficult is it, and if it can be done, what do I need to do?

GSM is approx. 4" big.

Thanks.

It is doable but much more difficult than other clowns. You actually need to get a much smaller maroon for the pairing. At least that's what I did. I was successful in pairing them up but unfortunately lost one when I changed tanks.

The bigger and older (presumably female) would chase and beat the heck out the newcomer the first few days. I first introduce the new maroon by placing him in a clear plastic container with small holes in it so water can flow through. The old maroon would come up and stare at it and even try to intimidate it. I would let the small one out and when it was harassed, I would scoop it up back inside the plastic container.

After 3 days of no success, I decided to put the bigger maroon in the container instead and let her have a taste of being confined :D It worked. She behaved nicely after that until the unfortunate incident.

Kenny is right. Smaller second clown, have a way to separate them so they can still see each other...

I've created 3 pairs. I've never had to use the clear plastic container, but I highly recommend it. In my tanks I have enough anemones that the clowns can find separate homes without the need to attack one-another.
