Is it possible to

It is possible but a big risk with maroons. They tend to be very aggressive and it can be very hard on the other fish.

Okay. Another question... If I should introduce another, should it be larger? And does it have to be exactly the same, or could I get say a gold stripe?

Okay, I am confused. Is the clown you have a maroon? or are you trying to add a maroon clown and pair it up with a different species?
Both are possible, so I thought I would ask. If you are trying to pair up maroons there is a sticky at the top of the forum that tells you how to do this.

I would really NOT recommend adding a different species of clown to a tank with an established maroon occupant. The maroon will kill the newcomer. If you'd like to add another maroon, then I'd suggest adding the smallest one you can obtain. You may have to keep the newcomer in a cage of some sort for his protection if you do not have a good number of places for him to take refuge that the incumbant clown cannot reach. I'd also suggest keeping a close eye on the two and do not hesitate to remove the new clown if it appears the original clown is doing him harm (ie torn fins, repeated attacks regardless of submissive posture by the smaller fish).

Okay, sorry I wasn't more clear. I have a regular maroon, not real aggressive toward other fish, but about 2.5". I would like to add another maroon, but maybe a gold stripe. Or would I be better going with on that looks identical? I'll check that thread at the top, thanks.

2.5 inches is still a little small. I would just go ahead and let it grow a little more. You would want the size difference to be at least an inch or so. When you go shopping for another clown, make sure you can get a really small one. Also, the white bared ones are a little bit more aggressive. What GBerry waid was right as far as pairing them goes. GOod luck.
