Is it safe to add manderin to dt

Just wondering if its ok to add a mandarin to the dt while im treating my fish in a hospital tank. I didnt want to add any fish for 8 weeks but since mandarins dont get ich Im wondering if I could add one without worry of a host in the tank for ich to remain. My copapod population has exploded and would be heaven for the mandarin. Just wondering. Thanks.

I would not do it. The Mandarin may not get infested but it could be a carrier in which case the ich will reinfect the fishes you just treated when you return them to the DT.
I am in week 3 of keeping my own DT fallow. If nothing else, I have learnt that being patient is essential in a sucessful marine tank.

It is a complete myth that mandarins can't get ich. They can and do get this parasite.
