Is my 6 line wrasse gone?

I bought this fish last Wednesday with purple fire fish. It was swimming in my tank for 3 days and eating well, and now I cannot find it for almost a week. Is it dead?

Usually new fish will hide for a couple of days because of the new eniverment worst case is I would check behind the tank to make sure he did jump out. GL

He's probably hiding scared. You don't anything that would eat him?

I have hermit crabs.

He is more than likely expired. Ive had several sixline wrasses and they are not a shy species... should be out and about.

try to look in overflow box, if you dont see it, it might dead, i have the same problem

Hermits won't eat him unless he was dying already. I would check the floor again and like they said overflow/box, sump.

Six line are jumpers, look around the floor. This is one of my favorite fishes. The first one a had, sold to me as the only wrasses that wont jump (not true at all) went carpet surfing/RIP my friend Now I have a versa top just to keep this fish, had it for over a year now.

I had a sea grass wrasse and he was about 4" and i came home from work one day and he was in the overflow box, and the next day he was on the floor behind my tank

Most people worry about how to get them out. You seem to have solved that problem.
