Is my Acan lord dying?

I bought this coral about 2 weeks ago and it doesn't look the same. I am worried about it. Is it dying or going through some kind of a change? Here it is the day i put it in the tank and the second pic is now.

The polyps have for sure retracted but IME lps often go through "phases" of looking great to pretty bad. Ive thought one of my open brains was a gonner prob 10 times but here, 9 months later, its still doing fine. I would just give it a couple days to see if it comes back around.

Shade it a little I went throug something like that a few months ago. I forgot and I put high up on the tank. I shade it and it recovered. I'll find the thread that I started the only thing is I put deleted the pictures. shade it for sure.

I found the picture note the polyps that did not get direct lights.
This colony it's fully recovered and many babies around :)

I have been feeding dt's phyto and oyster eggs every other day. I have a tek 6 bulb fixture over it and have it sitting on the bottom of the tank. The day it started looking like this the ph shot up to 8.57 But I got it lowered by increasing the flow of the calcium reactor. It is looking a little better today but still looks stressed.

I don't think is PH, my tank ranges from 7.9 - 8.4 morning/at the end of the day. My problem was caused by the lights when I upgrade the tank, feed it meaty food like mysis shrimp, krill.. etc. they can eat anything. I don't feed it anymore since it recovered.

When the feeders are out at night then just unfroze it and put some in each head. To get the feeders out just put some of the juce from the unfrozen food around and the feeder will be out, then feed it. I still think you need to shade it a little from direct light.

I'll feed it tonight when the feeders are out. I moved it under a ledge a little to shade it. I will let you know how it is coming along. Thanks Jim

What are the tube-like things growing out of your acan? I have them too, are they part of the coral or something else harmful? I don't think mine or the ones in your pics are feather dusters.
