Is my bubble tip anemone dying?

Ree, I will take one tonight so long as it will let me lol. Simpkins, I will try that. Ive tried all sorts of things so far and the clown fish gets to it before the anemone can :/

I've had great success with BTA's and here's what I've found:
If they don't have bubbles feed them a chunk of food like a small cube of shrimp or squid, mysis doesn't cut it when they're like that. Personally I feed them chunks of silverside too and have never had an issue with it but some people here think they can hurt the nem.

Change things very slowly in their immediate environment - so don't move it yourself and don't mess with rocks and lights at the same time.

Gradually change water conditions. if something is off, change it back slowly

Good luck

I don't know how well you can see it in the pics? I put a red line (check out those awesome PAINT skills) to the left of the white lines im talking about. And above the red U shape I made is where the other mouth is. The other dark pic is from last night and the bright one from this morning.
UPDATE ON FEEDING: I finally got it to eat last night! I sucked up some Mysis in a turkey baster and gently pushed it around its mouth and it ate. Even more impressing is that my clown fish actually assisted it with eating instead of stealing its food. She warded off all the other fish and helped put some of the shrimp in its hole. I was shocked.

Wow! That's great news. :celeb1: Finally the little a-- learned to behave himself. Anyway, can't really be so sure from the pics sorry; however, splitting usually happens rather quickly so you just have to wait a bit. BTA splits into two or more parts, which is very cool! Though this is to your advantage having twins, triplets, or even quadruplets, you need to investigate your water condition and correct its parameters accordingly. Note that splitting could have been triggered by stress caused from bad water condition and your BTA(s) will not thrive if you don't fix the underlying problem.

I will try to get a better pic of it tonight. Its kind of hard to get because the glass is a little dirty inside the tank. Im going to try my best to get my water tested tomorrow (my only day off) and I will take pics of that too.
And yes, I am over the moon that the clown fish quit being a total jerk!:dance:

Just a little update. It still hasn't split, but looks like it still wants to. Is eating good now and is currently moving all over the tank. I finally got my new lights installed and I think it is throwing a fit and still getting used to it so it is currently moving all over the tank trying to find its new happy spot. But all is well with it so far. It is finally looking healthy and happy and eating and I thank y'all for the help on me getting it that way! This will definitely be my last anemone for a little while lol.

You are right about being stressed from the new light. Make sure you do not interfere with its position unless it went to a power head. How is its color?

Its color looks better and I feel like its getting bigger. Still no split though, but I finally got a good pic of, what I think, is its 2nd mouth. When I feed him it will open up and take food just like the primary mouth will. Just no split yet? The first 2 pics are of its 2nd mouths, its to the left of the primary mouth. The 3rd pic is just of its clown fish and the shrimp that won't leave it alone now. Its not aggressive with the anemone or anything, but it has discovered that I feed the anemone too and will sit on it and take the food from it. The clown fish going nuts and trying to push it away doesn't even phase it lol.

Sorry it took my so long to reply to you! And no, I got it from Tropical Fish in East Ridge. I was in there the other day and they had an identical bubble tip like mine and it was literally falling apart and dying. So I mentioned it to the lady and she said "no, that's just what they look like." So I won't be going back there again because they either don't know what their doing OR they will just tell anyone anything to make a dollar. I stay with the Aquatic Den in Cleveland, the guy that runs it is super nice and has never let me buy anything that didn't belong in my tank. Great store!

***UPDATE***
for those who were wondering, my anemone still has NOT split. It is doing great, getting big, and just looks like 2 in 1. It seems happy, my clown fish is still happy, so all is well!
