is my clam dying?

i just noticed that there is a hole on the bottom of the clam by the gland. it is a maxima or crocea. also the filter hole seems to be getting bigger. i have 2 other clams that seem to be doin great, but this one hasnt attaced yet. got it last week. what should i do???

the hole under it is normal,its part of the byssal opening. since you just got this clam last week, give it some time to attach. i dont know whether its a Crocea or Maxima but Croceas tend to gape (keep there filter hole open)more then oher clams. a few good pics would help
