Is My Coral Bleaching?

I have a Pink Bird's Nest Coral that seems like it is bleaching? Any suggestions on how to save it?

Here is a picture:

Thank you.

Curious. Did you just get it?

I got it about 3 weeks ago. I have moved it around to different locations, testing flow, to try to make it happy. I also dust off the edges with a baster, when I see red fibers or specks try to attach to the edges, to keep it clean.

I feed it with oyster-feast and rodi-feast. It's mid-depth, so the LEDs shouldn't be bleaching it. It might just be under stress. But if I can help keep it from dying, I'd like to do that. My water parameters are fairly decent and I keep up with weekly water changes. Not sure what is going on.

It looks like bleaching to me. When you say your parameters are decent, what exactly do you mean? Stability is important with sps. Also, I find it beneficial to acclimate my sps to the light. I start them on the bottom of the tank, and very slowly over the course of a couple of weeks raise them up higher. I'm not really familiar with LEDs, but it's my understanding they can be very intense, and most people using them do as I do. If it was me I would move it to the bottom of the tank and see what happens. You may want to post to the sps forum.

My water specs:

1. Salinity: 35 ppt;
2. Temperature: 77-80 Degrees F;
3. Phosphate: 0.14-0.17 ppm;
4. Calcium: 420 ppm;
5. Alkalinity: 180;and
6. Magnesium: 1200.

My LEDs are set for low-med intensity. Moving the SPS lower will be a bit complicated. But I'll consider it, for sure. Actually, I will raise the LEDs by a couple of inches.

Parameters look good. I still think it is the lighting. If it were me, I would see what I could do to make the lights less intense on the corals. If possible raise the lamps or decrease the intensity.

Hard to tell whether it's bleached or not from the photo. Are you seeing any polyp extension at all? I agree that it is likely that the lighting is too intense.

Thanks, all. I moved my LEDs up about 1.5 inches. I also lowered the setting on my LEDS (which already were not at full strength), by using an "acclimate coral setting." This feature will reduce the intensity by 50%. Hopefully, my coral will not die, but grow.

Good plan. I have found acclimating new corals to be very important. Especially if your seller is using diff lighting. Just what I have found to be true.
