Is my female anthias converting to a male.

This was a couple of years ago (let's say).
There are no other anthias' in the tank with her. The only other fish added in the last couple of years was a Janss pipefish.

Did your sun polyps spawn on their own and move to the other rocks????mine just grew but didnt hop rocks like that????????that is awesome ....PM me and let me know i would love to hear about htat if you dont mind
could be....go get a couple of smaller individuals of that anthias and it will definitely turn into a male

She was definately the alpha female a few years back when she was first bought. She was beating the snot out of the other females in the tank.
Why did she suddenly start to grow this?
Snaps, the tubastrea to the left went through a divorce and a tank crash. It was almost dead and in that pic is starting to come back. One of the LFS has a tank of tubastrea that throws polyps. They are growing all over the place in there... on the inlet and outlet plumbing... on the sides of the tank.
I can't add more anthias dood, this is a stocked 55 gallon tank. We are considering a small harem for the 100 gallon that will be up when we move into a new house in a couple of months. There's even a 240 sitting in the yard.... now THAT could be a nice anthias harem tank!

Don't know what her sex change plans are but had to comment on what a beauty she is - great photo!
Looked at the photo again - I recognize that look in "her" eye, I've seen it before....this fish plans on ruling your tank

I have 8 lyretail anthias.
Two of them have changed sex on me.
She looks like she is going....if her pectoral fins start turning purple then she is definatly changing sex, the growing dorsal filiment isnt a positive sign though.
