Is my Ricordia splitting?

I've had a green/blue ricordia for months now, there have always been two polyps. Now one has dripped down the rock it's on and is attached to the main mushroom by a thread. Is it splitting or is something terrible happening?

It is just splitting, you will be fine. They typically "walk" a little (less than an inch) immediately after splitting to make room.
