Is my starburst cap growing or dying????

Today i saw some white on the edges of my starburst. Is it STN or is it growing?

its a fast grower as long as you have the right lighting and conditions. i was getting a 1/4 inch a week with mine.

Really? Many peoples told me that it grow very very slow.

I've place it 22" from the light and in low to moderate flow. I've placed it first 12" from the light with high flow and didn't have pe and it was bleaching. Where do you have yours? I want it grow fast too.

Mine also grows really fast. Yours looks like it is dying to me.

If the light grey around the edges used to be alive, then it is dying. Can you get a closer picture?

It grows so fast for me that I had to take it out. A frag the size of a quarter could be 8" across in 4 to 6 months.

I don't remember if it was alive or it is new grow.

Not this LED guy. Mine is growing quite fast along with a number of SPS under LEDs.:beer:

corals look good. so your cap is a fast grower also.

i was letting the OP know that they grow fast and not slow. usually something else is wrong.

That may very well be but it doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it.

In the photo I posted above I have a purple cap (Purple Haze) that just did nothing for the first 2 months it was in my tank and now it's growing over the sides of the plug very quickly. I also have an ORA Green Planet that just slowly encrusted for 3 months and now it's growing a dozen new branches quickly.

Be patient.

Today I saw that the starburst is encrusting and not dying. It's encrusting on all sides now. Finally it's starting to grow.......I'm so happy :bounce1:
