Is My Tank Ready???

i just decided to redo my 12 gallon aqua pod. i got rid of all the old live rock, the water, and the live sand. i cleaned all my equipment and got a new 70 watt MH bulb for my fixture. after all the cleaning was done and all the water/sand/LR was gone, i filled it back up with the water from my 5 year old reef tank so that it would have a head start and have the same parameters and bacteria from my reef tank. i bought new live sand and put in 10 pounds of cured live rock. my biocube skimmer has been taking out alot of the dust/debris from the new sand. it has been running for about a week now with just the live rock and live sand in there. is my tank going to go through a cycle even though i used the same exact water from my established reef tank? i wanted to make the nano tank a nem tank.... could i try to add a BTA or LTA since i know my reef water is fine for a Nem, considering i have had one in there for years? any other advide for me would be a great help. thanks

is the lighting is not enought, i can always add 2 18 watt t5's on there to add a few more watts. last time i did that before i started from scratch, the algae had crazy growth and was hard to keep up with

Since you disturbed everything, you may experience a small cycle. However, with a nano, the good news is water changes are relatively easy. I say go for it and keep an eye on this. Be sure not to add too much bioload too quick.

thank you VERY much for your input. i think i am going to giv it a shot and if it fails, i have plenty more reef water to just start over with:}

IMO, I wouldn't risk it. I'd wait it out another week or two and monitor closely. I'd start with cuc first rather than getting something as sensitive as a nem.
