my torch coral sucked in all of its tentacles on one of the braches and all the others just seem sort of drupy.the one looks like its dividing itself. is that how it happens? i've had it for about 4 or 5 months. i don't know i was just curious. what do yall think?

Um, when a euphyllia splits, its a long process........it doesnt happen over night. Most people will see a bubble form in the center of a head, and that is when the process usually starts......sounds like your coral is a little unhappy.......post params and see if anyone else chimes in. hth. : )

As stated above mine is doing the same thing right now, but it is hammer coral...It started out as 2 branches 6 months ago and now has about 6 large heads (One bubbling in middle and about to split) and about 10-12 small branches starting to come out of the bigger branches...Once they start growing they split and grow new branches rather fast...And as far as receding goes, that's what mine does when light goes out...Maybe you don't have sufficient lighting!?

all my numbers check out, quality is fine. my torch recedes a little at night even with the lights on. but the white part i guess the skin or whatever at the base of the branch seems to be creasing. Hey kookerson are you talking abut the tentacles splitting or the branches and what part are you considering the head?
