We have had this yellow tang for almost a month now and I have been watching these little white spots. They dont seem to grow, but it seems from my memory that they have moved a little bit over time. I also havent seen a bump in the dorsal before.

I have included arrows and a link to a large version of the picture. He seems to eat okay, not nearly like the orange shoulder or naso though. He does seem a little less active than our previous yellow tang and sometimes just hovers in one spot/rubs closely with other fishes.

I'd say that that looks like one of the healthiest Yellow Tangs i've seen. (I'm serious).

I've never had one but it looks okay to me. You shouldn't worry too much unless the white spots start to spread. In that case, you should probably remove it from the tank and give it medicine or some kind of treatment.

If you have a reef tank, you could probably get a couple of skunk cleaners, and they usually clean fish of dieases and are fun to watch. Don't get shrimp if you have any dangerous fish that may eat it. But you could probably get cleaner shrimp to clean it if you want if you have live rock and no dangerous fish.

What other fish do you have?
