Is steam distilled water safe?

Ran out of water and the lfs is closed. Just wondering the Walmart near has distilled water by steam dissolution, just wondering if it was safe

I've heard of people using it before, and I've used it for top offs with no ill effects.

I think it's probably safer than tap, even if it isn't as good as LFS water.

Walmart also carries RO water, they call it drinking water. Its got a pink cap(I think). Ive used that instead of the distilled.

The distilled could have been distilled in copper pipes, and thats not a good thing.

But I suppose either one would work in a pinch.

I used distilled from Walmart with my first tank. Didn't have any problems.

Yeah I use to use the distilled pink cap all the time but here recently at my store I looked at the label now and it says purified by way of "steam dissalation", but it use to say purified through reverse osmosis. I was just unsure of the steam dissalation process

steam distillation is is exactly what it sounds like. Water is boiled and the water vapor is collected. leaving the impurities behind in the boiling apparatus. this is also how oils like eucalyptus or clove oil are manufactured through steam distillation then separated from the water.
