Hi Jason, I was wondering if the rock you're curing is almost done? I think its supposed to be ready the 18th? Just checking.

thanks
Andrew

Hi,

It will probably be last next week before any pieces are ready, often some pieces cure faster then others. This shipment was a little more fresh then normal, so looks like a longer curing time,

Hi again, my birthday was yesterday so my parents are ready to order my rock. Is the Fiji cured rock ready? Is it really good? I dont mind waiting if its not the best. Also on density would 80 or 90 look good in a 55? Thanks, I've heard so many good things about this rock and cant wait to get some!

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

The rock we have in stock is now cured, but many people went ahead and bought the rock uncured and semi-cured, so not much left.

If you don'd mind waiting longer, we have a fresh 1000 pounds coming in saturday. We could take an order when we get back from vacation and set your pieces aside until they get cured, that way you get top picks.

On the density, 80-90 should be plenty for a 55gallon, that should pack it nice and full. Density varies from batch to batch and piece to piece, but usually it's pretty light with lots of holes.

Can you give me a date when the rock will be ready? I really would like to get some rock soon, as this tank was a Christmas present and I am just now getting rock. Is it like bottom of the barrel crud rock u have now? Do you even have 90 pounds in? I'm thinking if the rock you have now isnt basketball size crap pieces I might get it. Would you wait? I'm guessing the new rock would be ready july? I don think I can wait that long. Hmm. Thanks for answering muy questions.
Andrew

WAAAA! Chromis , get ahold of your self!good things come to those who wait.wait til the crew at PA get back from a much needed vacation to get your rock. as always , it will be as good as you can get! tell mom and dad that santa will bring the presents as soon as he can!

Actually, I'm thinking of getting my rock somewhere else now. I have already waited a month for this rock and was told it was all gone. I am definitly not waiting till july so, gotta find another dealer. I was looking forward to this rock but I cant waist all summer trying to get rock. I was suposed to be adding fish and corals in july. Now it looks like I might finish cycling just in time for school.
This is really disapointing
Andrew:(

Hi Andrew,

The 2nd batch will be ready in 10 days. We have probably 150 pounds cured right now. Still nice pieces, but more we have in stock more selection we can offer you.

If you want some rock though, i would order it soon, it goes fast and you don't have to pay for it until it's ready. Otherwise we have no idea who is waiting for it and can be bought up quickly,

your phone # isnt open till wednesday? How do I specify online that I want the stuff to cure first? Could I just wait till wednesday?

Thanks, I think i will go with PA for rock:)
Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Yes, you can wait and order thursday morning, i have the cured rock out of stock online right now, so you'll be one of the first to order from the 2nd batch thursday!

jason

Jason! sign me up for 45# of that Rock.I'll be on the phone first thing Thursday morning. How does it look? I have a shallow and narrow 40 long. What shapes would you recommend? I was thinking a few narrow flat peices along with several "footballish" shaped pieces.

hi again, I have ordered my rock and it should be in wednesday. Is it possible for me to order some trochus snails(only a few like 2-5) and have them come in the box with the rock? I dont think so, but I was wondering.

thanks
Andrew

Hi,

If you are using overnight shipping, it would probably be fine to add the snails, chance they could get smashed from the rock, but could put in a little box inside. If it's 2 days, i would wait on the trochus, they are not a real good shipping snail, so don't think they would make it 2-day.

jason

Its air cargo so I guess the arrival time is highly variable. Are any other snails you have good at eating cyano and are good shippers?

thanks again

Hi,

Aircargo does vary, usually 24 hours, but can take up to 48 hours.

The baha snails are good slime eaters and baha hermits. The Queen Conch is pretty good on slime at least the bottom of the tank. They all ship pretty good.

THANK YOU

the rock is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just the pieces I asked for and the conch is too cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be spending lots more $$$ at PA in the future (next project: metal halide retro kits). I got several plate like pieces that I wanted for some maxima clams. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

thanks for all your patience
