Is the filter from my refrigerator good?

are those kind like RO units? I think im going to use that water for my fish tank instead of buying RO water from the store

Definately not the same as RO. Get a RO unit, you'll be glad you did.

No, it's far from being RO water. Test it, you'd be surprised what those things leave in the water. A basic TDS meter should prove it to you. Best to invest in a good RO/DI unit.

I kid you not, I actually tried one as a pre-filter to my RO/DI unit. My TDS after the refrigerator filter was more then the water going in. It was a new filter but I did run quite a few gallons through it before testing.
