Is the Tunze Turbelle Nanostream 6040 good for my 20 gallon?

Love to learn
I currently have a small powerhead (as you can see on the right in the picture), but I'm frustrated at how little control I have over flow-rate and direction. After seeing yesterday's BRS powerhead/flow video I'm now considering the 6040. My main concern, though, is whether it will have too much flow for my little 20 gallon. I have two Ocellaris Clownfish and a grouping of Palythoas. It seems like the Clownfish will enjoy more flow, but I'm concerned mainly about the Palythoas.

Anyone have any experience with the 6040 in small tanks or advice?

Thanks.

I have two 6040's in a IM fusion 40. They work great. The benefit is that you can turn down the speed. So you can dial down the power to fit your tank.

That's good news. On the website they say the flow rate is 53-1,190 gph. My current powerhead is 249. Do you think it can really go that low of a gph?

My current powerhead is pretty much level to try to maintain circulation around the bottom of the tank to keep cyano from coming back. But my water parameters are much better, so I'm hoping I can use a 6040 to create a much better flow pattern and cycle.

Also, have you had any problems with the open design, with snails and such getting in the propeller area?

Thanks!

No problems yet with snails. There is also a feed button to cut the pump off for a few minutes which is helpful when feeding fish
