Is there a substitute for rotifers as a first food?

My female perc and male ocellaris laid some eggs. I'm going to attempt to raise some of these guys.

Any new developments as a first food besides rotifers.

You can attempt to raise them without live foods. C-Quest has had 80% survival rate with A. clarkii and 1% survival rate with A. perderaion and A. melanopus.
Pulverized flakes and spirulina is whats normally used. You need to feed several times a day to make sure they get enough opportunities to eat. This will severely increase the tank maintenance, all of the excess food must be vacuumed out after each feeding.
