Got this as part of a trade, cant figure out what it is or was or if it is dead or alive? I think it might or might have been a Aussie Scoly? I am talking about the disk shape coral.

Definitely looks like a long dead coral skeleton. Possibly Scoly, but you'll have much better luck, if you ask for IDs on this, in the LPS ID sub forum, instead of the SPS ID sub forum.

thanks returnofsid, I will repost this in teh LPS ID. I was not sure were to put it. I was not sure if it was still alive since it still has green.

That would be the remains of a dead coral... sorry man. Any color I can see on it is from algae thats overgrown the old skeleton. Hope you didnt trade anything good...

Looks like a plate coral skeleton, fungia. If you see some tissues as you said, they may still come back. I have seen one in the LPS forum that sprouted miniatures throughout the surface of the skeleton. Good Luck.

Thanks hormigaquatica, I got lots of other stuff in the trade, as well so no worries, kinda looks cool anyway this is why i glued him to my LR.

Wisperer, in the hopes just incase this is the other reason why i glued him to my LR, just so see what happens. If he comes back great if not then it is a cool looking decoration.

I have one more just like it but really green.
I guess this one is dead also, and the green is algea?
