This was the best pic I could get with my phone. Whatever it is, it contracts and my emerald crab really wants to eat it.

Is it alive? Barnacles have very obvious feeders that come out in a distinct way. can't mistake it. Check out this video: http://youtu.be/v1SW-pl2gYs

A lot of maricultured frags come in with barnacles. They will irritate any tissue that grows near - most coral will just grow around them.

I have a nice piece of live barnacle in the center of a growing coral
