Is this a coral?

Hi everyone, I was scanning my live rock today after two days in the tank, and noticed this. There's more around other pieces but this is the largest. Is this a coral? Also, is it good for my tank or should I remove it? Thanks (oh and the unidentified thing is in the center of the photos)

looks like just a dead piece of some sort of sps skeleton. I dont know what kind, but it sure looks like its dead to me. Its neither good nor bad. I'd leave it but thats just me. They're good for fragging corals. I've got a coral skeleton that was some sort of sps coral (lots of branches) that was really broken up so i got it for free. I just use that for fragging stuff. Zoas, and many other corals grow on it really easily.

Kind of hard to tell by the pics. Can you grab it and bring it out in the open to get a better pic? If you do grab it does it feel slimy or does it feel like a normal piece of rock?

Unfortunately I cannot grab it because it's on a rock near the bottom of my stack. But its texture doesn't look slimy at all, kind of a dry look.

could be living, in that first picture you can vaguely see what look to be polyps extending. Hopefully it'll do well for you.
