Is This A Feather Crawling Around? (Pics)

So I have a few feathers that were hitchhikers on some LR. The other day I saw this thing slowly crawling around the rock. The pics below are kind of a series of still, the last image shows this "thing" kind of burying itself into the rock.

Is this a feather worm that was moving to a different spot? Is this normal behavior for them?

Really? Well I would have never guessed that. It is weird because these things (there are several) just suddenly appeared. Additionally, I have noticed that once they "root" themselves they extended into the water column for a good 1-1.5 inches. Here is a pic of what I am now seeing.

I guess I will try a post in the anemone forum and see if anyone can identify these things.
