Is this a good deal??

50G Oceanic Tank + Stand= $250 plus tax

I think the dimensions are 30x18x22. This is brand new and not RR.

For a brand new Oceanic tank and stand, that is a pretty decent deal. It about $50-$100 less than what you would spend at a LFS. But its not an amazing deal or anything.

It's at Petco .. It's 50% off. It's really nice. I was going to buy this tank before I got the 100G. The only problem is it's not RR.

Tropical Haven in Modesto has a Perfecto 56G RR(30x18x24) + unfinished 30" stand for less than $250. Its overflow is similar to the AGA MegaFlow. Not as nice as Oceanic, but it's half the price.

So basically you would gain an overflow, but lose out on a finished stand and the oceanic quality. Plus you would have to drive over 100 miles each way and spend money on gas.

Do you know how much it cost for an Oceanic RR 50 or 58G plus stand? I was making the comparision between the Perfecto setup vs the Oceanic RR setup.
Obviously, the long drive for some is a big turn off. For others, it might not be a big deal. Keep in mind that a quality overflow and bulkheads will cost you $80-100 easy.

Hey, I paid over $300 for my Oceanic 58 RR! Yeah, I probably got ripped off. No stand, that was another $150 or so... (my wife wouldn't let me build one).
