DGlove do you plan an putting that on the 125g?i would just put live rock where the bio ball usually go and throw a bag of carbon with the filter pad and a skimmer everthing would be fine what do you plan on putting in the tank softies, lps, sps?

Take the lid off, throw it away. Drill a hole in the side to let the water drain into it. Then, where the baffle is at in it, put a solid baffle so that you have a constant water level on the left side of it in that picture. Put the skimmer on the left side, some Live Rock, put the return pump on the right side. Don't put bioballs in it.

The purpose of the modified drain and baffle is to provide a steady water level for the skimmer. If you try to put the skimmer on the right side or anywhere where the water level isn't constant, it becomes a major nightmare trying to get the skimmer to perform consistently.

I am fighting that problem in both my 90 and my 120 at the moment.

Good luck with it.

not really the sump above is what came with that tank but Rob's Reef has 75 gal tanks (display tanks form aquazoo) for $50 bucks

David, just check to make sure it will fit in the stand. I know those tanks are 49" long and a 75 is 48". I don't remember the depth but it may not fit - front to back - under a 125.

lloyd, what section do you run the skimmer in? And, how is the baffle set up? I have issues with my skimmer running in a wet/dry with fluctuating water level from evaporation changing the way the skimmer skims.
