Is this a NP gorgonia?

I have 3 questions:

1. Is this a NP gorgonia?
2. Can anyone ID species?
3. Which side should face the flow, A or B?

Based solely on logic (i.e. don't believe anything until others with experience chim in):

1) I'd guess so. I haven't seen much for white photosynthetic organisms in our tanks
2) based on #1, I don't have a clue
3) again, logic says flow comes from A. If flow came from B, I find it hard to believe that the gorg would grow into the direction of more resistance.

I could be completely wrong, but I wanted to take a stab at it.

I have a similar one that i have kept for a couple months now. Still not sure on the id though. Would you happen to know where it came from?

I will ask LFS if they know the origin.

Mine is definitely asymmetric and I do not believe is the same species as yours. Yours is very nice, is it NP?

Not a hundred percent positive but I have a few NPS gorgonians and one that I have that is solid blue looks pretty identical to that one as far as the polyps are concerned.

As far as flow goes it looks like it side B has been facing the flow but corals are good at adapting so just place it however it looks best in your aquarium.

Yes, it is NP. I keep it in the shade to keep algae from growing on it. As far as water movement, i keep it in a spot where i have laminar flow hitting it straight on so it can catch food better

Yes that is a NP Gorgonia

The ID is Ctenocella sp. (pectinata) Link
