I saw this in my nano today and grabbed a shot. I haven't seen one like this in my main tank before, so I thought I would double check here and find out what it is. Is this just a normal bristle worm? Thanks.
i touched one of those worms by accident once, it was under a rock as i lifted, felt soft and fuzzy, but when i touched the finger it touched [profanity] lots of tiny cactus things in my finger, took duct tape, ptu it loosely on nad pulled it out, helped get them out, people said it was a brsitle worm, so it loked litk that thats my guess
There aren't really any corals in there for them to eat at the moment. I'll try to snap a larger pic when/if I see him again. It seems to resemble the worm in the link though mine seems to be more brown than red. Thanks for the replys. http://www.reefseekers.com/PIXPAGES/Bristle_worm.jpg
You might be able to bait it out by leaving a piece of food on the ground. It's a carnivorous worm so it should come out. Well, then again, even when I'm feeding my tank, I'll see regular bristleworms come on out of the rocks.
fireworms are not a problem unless you overfeed your tank and they get too big and if you have no fish to feed they will not be a problem if you do feed fish in your tank feed sparingly. Also you can drop some food in the tank after lights out and target the big worms with tweezers or some shrimp wrapped in nylon stocking the fireworms will get stuck and then just toss the whole thing out.

Usually they aren't out during the daytime ... they don't like light much. If you were to ever peek at your tank/LR at nite you would see many! ... and no, don't touch 'em
It's a fireworm, I removed one that had gotten over a foot long, don't touch it with your hands, I used a ziploc like a bag to grab it, here's a pic and video of it.
That is a nasty video man. I just checked up there now that the lights are off and noticed he had about six inches of his body coming out from under the rock though I still have no idea how long he is. Either way I think he's too large to be in a 20G nano, lol. I tried to grab him with some tweasers but he about yanked them out of my hand and I couldn't get him. I'll have to try the nylon stocking with shrimp trick if I can't pull him out. Thanks for the help everyone.
