Is this a red brain?

This was sold to me as an red open brain. From what I've seen, I don't think that's what I got. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks.

if not an open brain maybe an owl eye coral/donut coral, but i think that is pretty sweet looking whatever it is. LFS usually arnt that great with coral ID, at least thats my experiences.

I think it's a scolymia, I think I spelled that right. I take care of a green one. Care seems to be similar to that of a brain, as far as lighting and feeding preferences.

I gotta say, it somewhat looks like a scolymia, but still different enough from the ones I just saw on the net ... Here are 2 views of it eating:

According to Eric Borneman's books, Scolymia sometimes have multiple mouths, and that's what this coral looks most like to me. Perhaps most like the picture of S. vitiensis on page 278?

Single Lobophyllia often resemble Scolymia, according to the same book, so I won't argue strongly either way.

Thanks all for the input.

It does look like a single Lobophyllia Diminuta (it's the closest I've seen), but mine is much bigger, so it's probably not that (size of a small fist).

I guess I'll have to settle for Scolymia :)

I got it for $60CAD.
