Hello all I am new to hobby and have have a 65 Gal reef tank set up for about 7 months now and about 3 months in I started getting this (Picture Attached). Can someone give me some insight on what this is and if its a nasty pest and how to kill. Any advice would be much appreciated

weird lighting but yes that does seem to be an aiptasia under those zoas..
Seems you have a little bit of cyanobacteria too (red/maroon slime).. Not uncommon at all in a new tank and can just be siphoned out during water changes for now..
As for the aiptasia there are literally a million posts about its treatment/attack..
kalk paste/lemon juice/aiptasia x/ peppermint shrimp/hot boiling water injections,etc....

I'd just suggest a peppermint shrimp or pull the rock and burn the mofos with a lighter.. ;)

Yes the lighting is a flashlight I pointed at my suspected apurados invasion. Yea the cyno Just started showing up so I changed out the GFO in my reactor. Hopefully that does the trick. So peppermint shrimp then. I have to cleaner shrimp that should be okay if I put a couple peppermints I suppose? They won't fight correct?

I just fought this off...tried boiling water in syringe and it killed one. Bought Aptasia X and they were all dead with a couple minutes.

Cyano will go away in time. You will need something to compete with it for nutrients. Macro in the fuge or tank is a good choice. Just try to keep a good ratio of nitrate to po4. 30/1. As stated above siphon it out and reduce the lighting for a bit. GFO will do nothing unless you have excess po4.
If you do remove the rock and decide to burn the aptasia send us a picture.

+4, I would recommend aptasia x as well, if you try to mess with them to much and don't kill them they get ****ed and release spores that drop more baby's, the ax seals them closed so they can't drop spores and then quickly kills them, it's actually really neat to watch them implode into nothing lol
