Couple of small peppermint shrimp will eradicate a small amount of aiptasia in a couple of days. If you don't want the shrimp simply remove them after their work is done.

Thanks I was Hoping I was wrong.

Aiptasia is not the boogie man it is made out to be, don't sweat it. Every tank ends up with them, and they aren't a "problem" until they are a problem. I just kill them when they get large or are butting up against corals.

What is the best way to kill them if buying a fish is not an option?

Injecting them with boiling water seems to work well, I've had a few pop up here and there. I just boil some water take a syringe with a needle and blast them, they will retract but just keep blasting and eventually they will just melt.

The ones I've had in the sand I just vacuumed out while performing my weekly water change.

I had some and got a Peppermint Shrimp for that purpose....fail. The guys would not even look at them. I eventually did the boiling water thing. Blasted it very close straight to their mouth and they fry. The "body" stayed though. They are now part of my aquascaping.

I used Aiptasia-X it worked for me. I only had one its was small in an easy place to get at. Thats was 4-5 months ago.

I read a bunch when I got one. I dont think they are a big issue if you get them quickly. The problem can be if you cant get to it because of rock work etc. Many believe high phosphate/nitrate increase them, but I have no first hand experience.
