Are you referring to my comment to John? My post in jest. You just want to try and pick my posts apart? Have fun.How big is the tank? "Sometimes" a recommendation like this is just not right...
Peppermint shrimp do not always eat Aiptasia. Snails can flip themselves over given time. Tap water is not all bad etc... I'm just saying...
I would not recommend a raccoon butterfly unless the person has a fish only tank, likes them for their beauty and not for eating anything, and has the tank size and other suitable inhabitants. But they are pretty well guaranteed to eat aiptasia.
For aiptasia I do like getting a half dozen or so of peppermints in my tank at all times and at least one of them gets the taste and keeps the aiptasia trimmed back. I have a ton of aiptasia in my sump and a few in my display. I don't stress about it or do anything other then have some peppermints in my tank. I have a matted file fish because I like their unique look and smaller size and a copperband because again I like their look and about as reef safe as you can get for a butterfly. Neither of them touch my aiptasia.
