what happened to my coral. it turned like a brownish and now it seems algae is growing on it. also of course i see some skeleton showing. i have the piece for about 2 months now. i did recently move it from the right top or the tank to a left top. also a green cabbage leather is next to it now. before only sps where. could it be warfare. its about 5 inches away though, in med flow area. it was in new spot about 2 to 3 weeks before i started noticing this.

but if you see all my other corals arent really acting up. only this coral

Looks like tissue damage to me, most likley warfare. Exposed skeleton does grow algae very easily.

How far is the cabbage leather from it?

Also a coral turning brown usually means its not getting enough light. It fills its cells with zooxanthalla to compensate for low light. Too much light does the opposite the coral fades to white because it dumps its zooxanthella.

isnt this a favia , i thought they dont need a lot of light. it was about 5 inches away from leather. maybe less when leather expands. so right now i have it on the sand bed. should i raise it

These corals tend to do best with low to moderate lighting and moderate to high flow IME. You might want to give the coral a dip in some Revive or Coral Rx and then find it some shade for awhile. Hopefully things will improve with time. GL.

Recommend dipping in Lugols and see how it responds. Is any other corals around it?

right now no. before yes. plus i might of moved it. it was a little less light area. and flow might of been a little higher, but it wasnt that dramatic i dont think. so after i dip it, where would you place it in my tank. using maxspect razor led

Bottom in or near the sand bed, away from everything. Honestly man I think that coral looks beat...if you get it back that would be impressive. I can't imagine anything beating that coral in a battle they are aggressive.

I'm on the other side of the fence when it comes to dipping coral, I think it's one of the most toxic ,violent things you could do to a sensitive animal in stress.

Seems like everything else is doing fine. So why just that one favia. There not really hard to keep. If it is a favia

They're like people,sometimes they have disease sometimes they die... It happens.

oh I'm not saying give up at all... I just wouldn't suggest dipping a coral in that fragile state.

ok ill guess ill just keep it at the bottom of the tank until i see it get better
