What's going on that you're concerned it's dead? Doesn't look to be in bad health to me.... maybe someone more experienced will be able to help if you give more info?

Idk much about buttons but it looks to still be alive.

It looks ok to me, although a gaping mouth is not really something you want to see on a regular basis.

Thanks for the help. I am having water quality issues I am trying to resolve. I have list about 6 corals so far

Nitrates went thru the roof, cyno growing, alk, mag & Calc all too low.

Did lots of water changes, started dosing 2 part. All is coming back but cyno is still an issue.

Nitrate 5, nitrite 0, mag 1080, alk 5.3, pH 8.2 ammonia 0, salinity 1.025, CA 420

Just bought a button coral. And when I put him in he is not open and white stuff coming out. The people I bought it from said it's just stressed
