is this camera a good deal? amd is it reef worthy?

It'll do fine, but you're going to take pictures with blue lighting, you're going to need to PP the image to get any real color, unless you just want to take pictures that look ridiculous like a lot of places are trying to sell coral under.

Ahhh gotcha yea I don't really want to any post editing. Are family at all with this camera? I have a Samsung note 3 and my wife has an 1phone 6 which both have decent cameras.... would this one be better?

It's 7.2 MP which isn't bad as small cameras and many phones go, but it's a far cry from the 10 to 16 MP point & shoot zooms out these days. And it's a 12X zoom which isn't bad if you want a fair amount of zoom, and again, there are much bigger 30X to 50X zooms out there these days. But then they cost more like $300 to $500 dollars new. If you are patient and shop for a while, you might find one that is newer, more MP and zoom come up for sale.

At $50 it's probably not a bad choice for a camera if you just want to take some vacation or family pics. If you are looking to take aquarium photos, this probably isn't what you want. You really don't need a 12X zoom to do good aquarium pics. You need more in camera controls like white balance and a bigger lens (not bigger as in longer zoom, but bigger in diameter which allows more light in and shorter shutter speeds, i.e. lower f-stop). It's difficult to get good aquarium photos with a simple camera. And if you want pics in blue lighting, just be aware, it's not easy and post processing is almost always required if you want them to look good at all.
