Is this cheap?

I can get a used AGA 90 RR for about 150 dollars. Just the tank. It looks like its in good shape. Anything in particular I should check if I decide to buy it?

sounds good to me, check the seals and of course make sure no cracks or chips in the glass. Ask owner when it was filled last.

even if you have to re-seal it, that still looks like a good deal to me. just look for cracks in the glass, and seals. if you notice the glass is fine, but some seals are cracked, use that to get a better deal. shouldnt cost to much to have it re-sealed at the LFS. $50 or so.

Thanks Paintbug. I thought that sounded like a decent deal. I know the same tank would cost around 300 or more if I bought it new RR at a local LFS.

If you give me the address of the guy, I will go look at it for you first.. :evil grin:

Wow and I thought prices would be high out where I live... I just bought a brand new 125gal RR AGA for $330 at my LFS - guess I don't have it as bad as I thought.

Sounds like you should take that deal and run I guess.

Many LFS have rediculous prices on tanks. A had a custom made 150 gallon RR tank made for $400 locally. The store a few blocks away wanted $1100.

Wow, guess its a better deal than I thought. Thanks for the input guys.

I appreciate the offer Randall_James, but I have feeling that the tank wouldn't be there when I went to get it. lol

Even better reason to let me check it for you first, if the guy went and got rid of it before you got there, it would be best if I found out for you. I think the odds are pretty darn good he said it was there and it was not......:bum:

Yea its deff a good deal. I paid like 200 for my 75 gallon no reef ready tank, this was almost 4 years ago

I just bought a used 75 gallon AGA megaflow tank and stand and a crappy canopy [won't be using the canopy] for $150.00.. The stand was painted black, shiny black:eek: So I painted it..The tank had some sand in it, some coraline that won't come off the overflow but other than that it cleaned up real nice...I'm happy:rollface:

Someone just gave me a 125 gallon for free. :D Dude's uber rich, owns his own construction company. His wife likes tanks, and has two others that were even bigger. He was asking $85, and when I asked if I could fill it up to check for leaks he just said "You know what? Just take it. I don't even want it."

If you're close to a metropolis of any kind, check the classifieds. Never know what you'll find.

PS I think 150 for a 90 isn't that bad.

Sounds like a good deal to me. I just bought my 75 AGA for $130. Tack on $140 for a custom overflow, drill job, and bulkhead and im almost at $300.

some of these prices are insaine... I bought a 125gal aga megaflow, stand glass tops and fo lights for 700. On the other hand they got their money out of the other stuff I bought from them.... grrr

Well, I bought the tank today. I checked all of the seals, and the trim and everything. The tank has the megaflow and all of the accessories that are sold as part of a "kit" for about 60 bucks. The back has even been painted black already, so I won't have to worry about that. The only thing I don't like about the tank is the center brace on top. Overall the tank looks like it was used very little. Thanks to everyone that responded. I'm sure that I will have many more questions for everyone as I set this thing up.
