Is this Cyano algae?

Hi,

I'm hoping this pic is good enough to see but recently I've been getting green coralline algae growing on tank glass only which is ok but just now I've noticed this pink-red colour spotting more towards in the sandbed but its against the glass coz I tried to flick the sand around and it seems to be just on the glass. I'm freaking out thinking it's cyano but hoping its a pink form of coralline on the glass. Does anyone know what this is? Also just added a coral about 4 days ago if that info helps..

Thanks!

ive got 2 Trochus and 1 nassarius which is being lazy! Now I've just discovered bubble algae on my LR :( thought it was snail eggs at first...wish it was

Cyano is a bacterium of a sorts and is soft and coralline is quite hard to get off being of a high calcium content. Is it bubble cyano or actual oxygen bubbles manufactured via photosynthesis trapped while lights are on as they do with in cyano and actual algae?

liquidg - it is hard for me to get off the glass much like the green coralline so I guess its just different coloured coralline, That was a good explanation thank you for that made it easier for me to understand the different type of algae :) im not sure which type of bubble algae so I hope this picture helps.. really don't want an emerald crab or any crab in my tank I get worried bout my little clowns being hurt or corals :/ isn't there any product that will kill it off? Sorry it's off original topic..

You seem to have answered your coraline question, when it hard its all good, when its not, suck it out. There is a product out there for cyano that many on here have used. Try the reef section to find out what it was.

Thought an emerald crab was reef safe? I know Sally Lightfoots are.

You could try and suck it out, or take out the rock in question and deal with it that way.

crabs freak me out to be honest, and I've read too much on even the Sally Lightfoot crab killing small fish, my clowns are only tiny :s
