Is this eating my corals?

Merry Christmas guys! I should have better things to do on Christmas Day than worry about my tank really. In the very centre of this pic is something that keeps changing position on my coral. It seems to move around. Is it harmful to my corals? If so, what is it? How do I get rid?

Okay, it won't let me upload the pic. Whatever it is, it has five long fingers that wave in the current. Maybe some kind of anemone? I'll keep trying to upload pic.

Been searching online and finally think I’ve found an answer. Aiptasia Diaphana?? My attempts at searching on google using my description were pathetic but this definatly looks like the culprit. Doesn’t sound too good to me. Am I best going the chemical route, manual or introducing a fish that feeds on them?

Without a picture it's nearly impossible to ID.

If it truly is an aiptasia, try some aiptasia X by red sea. Worked well for me, the only problem is if you have some that you cannot reach.

Its hard to tell without a picture. If it is Aiptasia Diaphana they can sting and bother other corals.

Cheers guys. I have just ordered some Red Sea x and some joes juice as both have mixed reviews. Will always be handy having some of those products to hand in future I suppose. Keep trying to post pic but says upload failed every time : /

Remove by chemical, pluck by hand, consider peppermint shrimps if they work in your setup. Eradicate all of them and watch carefully what you put in your tank, these pests are annoying and possess a strong sting

I just used Joe's Juice with great success. Mine were very young. I have read that that makes a big difference.

Thanks. Just what I needed when things felt like they were moving along nicely. Lol. How efficient are peppermint shrimps?

In my limited experience, peppermint shrimp are great. I had three aiptasia pop up out of the blue, nearly 3 months after my last addition.
Within 2 hours one of the shrimp found them and that was all she wrote
Now they are plenty entertaining. More than happy to leave the water to pick at your fingers.

Very common and easy to handle. The joes juice or aiptasia X will kill it. Good chance more will pop up. I have peppermint shrimp in my tank and when I do see aiptasia they get it within a day or two.
