Is this enough DT's for my maxima?

I got a maxima about a week ago, its about 2"-2 1/2" long, its at the bottom of my 75 on top of a flat rock. I have 2X250w MH's and dose 1Tbsp of DT's every other day. Will he be fine with this lighting and food. So I can stop dosing DT's when it gets 4" long, how fast do they grow?

Looks like we have similar lighting and display tank.

I have a total of 10 clams. One 5" squamosa and nine croceas ranging from 2 1/2" - 5.5" in size. The smallest is probably 2 3/4" now.

I don't feed my clams anything and I just drip lime water. They're all putting on good shell (some faster than others). It doesn't mean you should discontinue. At this size, some people feed 'em and some people don't.

As for general growth rate for maximas, I'm not sure. I can say that a few of my Croceas have put on 1/2" in 7 months. I also notice they grow in spirts.

clams over 3 mostl depend on light as there main food source, under 3 they should be feed dt's, are you taking him out of the tank when you feed, or putting like a soda bottle with the end cut off around hime and feeding inside the tank?

No, Zanemosely....a derasa can do 1/2 inch a month. If you get a half an inch in a year with a crocea, consider yourself lucky.

YOu might want to research a feeding bell, or bowl feeding techniques. That will help your crocea's health and help him grow. With your size, he definately needs more DTs than just dosing a little bit to the tank in general.
